Team practice

Each Wednesday evening, 02/03/16 - 23/02/16, 8.15 to 9.15 pm at Sale Grammar School, Marsland Road, M33 3NH. Park in the main car park, then walk round the side of the school to find the sports hall. On public transport take the Metrolink to Brooklands, the school is 5-10 minutes walk away down Marsland Road.

Sunday Indoor

Each winter the MSL run "turn up and play" indoor sessions on Sunday afternoons at Platt Lane Dome (M14 7UU) from 3pm to 5pm. Given the format there's no Tigers team as such but a number of us go along regularly to the sessions. The sessions cost £5 a week (first session free).

Indoor rules changes

Each batter receives only one pitch - if it's a strike or foul ball the batter is out, if it's a ball the batter gets a walk. Teams bat for a set amount of time rather than for a set number of outs. If a batted ball hits the upper part of the wall or the roof the batter is out and the ball is dead. A fair ball that hits the lower part of the wall is a Home Run - unless it caught after hitting the wall (and before hitting the floor), if it caught the batter is out and the ball is dead.

The batting team score points: A single is 1pt, Double 2pts, Triple 3 pts, Home Run 5pts. Each base runner that reaches home is 1pt. Each Out is -1pt.
